Setting up Females centred AI and data engineering laboratories.
The AI driven lab is required for extending AI research capabilities for females in the Hub and Spoke Universities (HSU).
Industrial Immersion Programme ( IIP) for Students and Academia
20 female academics will be seconded to the industry under the Industry Immersion Programme for Lecturers (IIP4L) and 100 students would be seconded to the industry under the Industrial Immersion programme for Students (IIP4S).
Skills Development Training
This involves joint conduct of applied training with industrial partners for 100 female undergraduate students and 20 female postgraduate students in addition to the provision of entrepreneurial training to 20 AI-driven students’ start-ups. Seven skills namely: Financial Literacy, Clean Energy, AI and ICT, Acadopreneurship, History Heritage and Storytelling, Global Citizenship, Family and Leadership training would be introduced in the HSU to facilitate graduate employability index and skill acquisition.
Academic Immersion Programme (AIP) for Industry Experts
Twenty (20) female industry experts would be seconded to the HSU during the life-time of the project.
Sponsorship of Two Females Post Graduate students to MMU
Two female post-graduates students working in AI related fields from the HSU would be selected for special knowledge transfer and exchange between MMU and the HSU.
Organizing of Workshops and Conferences
Four female-centred dissemination workshops at the HSU would be carried out during the project lifetime.
Females in AI Mentoring Programme
The number of females in STEM in Nigeria is less than 25%. One of the major reason attributed to this is absence of purposeful mentoring scheme.
